The Pepsi GMT is the most recognizable watch mod in the world. The red and blue bezel is instantly identifiable, and the NH34 GMT movement gives you real dual time zone functionality. Building one from scratch is easier than you think.

Here is a complete parts list and step-by-step guide from Funny Items.

What You Need

  • GMT case with Pepsi bezel — 40mm, with 24-hour rotating bezel
  • NH34 GMT dial — Cut for 4 hands
  • GMT hands set — Hour, minute, second, and GMT hand
  • NH34 movement — The GMT calibre from Seiko
  • Bracelet or strap — 20mm, steel or rubber
  • Basic tools — Case back opener, hand press, tweezers

Step-by-Step Build Guide

Step 1: Install the Dial

Place the NH34 GMT dial onto the movement. Make sure the dial feet align with the movement holes. The date window should line up with the date wheel at 3 o'clock.

Step 2: Install the Hands

Using a hand press tool, install the hands in order: hour, minute, GMT, second. The GMT hand goes on the 4th post. Press each hand straight down with even pressure.

Step 3: Test the Hands

Set the time to 12:00 and check alignment. The GMT hand should point to 12 on the 24-hour scale. Wind the crown to make sure all hands move freely.

Step 4: Case the Movement

Place the movement into the Pepsi GMT case. Insert the crown and stem. Screw down the case back.

Step 5: Attach the Bracelet

Use a spring bar tool to attach the stainless steel bracelet to the case lugs.
