The Seal Between Crystal and Case
Crystal gaskets create the waterproof seal between your crystal and case. They are cheap, invisible, and absolutely critical.
What They Do
- Seal the gap: fill the space between crystal edge and case seat
- Enable compression: the crystal press compresses the gasket, creating the watertight fit
- Absorb shock: slight cushioning protects the crystal from case flex
Gasket Sizing
Gaskets are specified by inner diameter, cross-section thickness and material. Match all three to your crystal and case — a gasket that's slightly undersized won't seal; oversized won't let the crystal seat.
When to Replace
- Every time the crystal comes out — gaskets take a compression set and don't reseal reliably
- Before any water-resistance-dependent use after a build
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reuse the old gasket if it looks fine?
Risky — compression set isn't always visible. A few dollars of gasket beats water damage.
Where do I get the right size?
Match to your crystal and case specs. Our case listings state compatible gasket sizes.
