The Escapement Collector Festival Moves From Abu Dhabi to Las Vegas
The Escapement, billed as a three-day event “for collectors, by collectors,” will not open in Abu Dhabi this November. According to WatchPro, organisers have moved the festival to Las Vegas and reset the dates to February 5–7, 2027, after corporate travel limits to the UAE made the original plan unworkable for participating brands.
The new layout is larger. Friday, February 5 is a VIP evening at The Sphere, including a charity auction. Saturday and Sunday are full show days at T-Mobile Arena: independent watch brands on the floor, presentations, comedy, the inaugural Rubis Awards and a closing concert. Organisers are re-confirming every brand against the new date and say they will publish a full line-up when that process finishes.
Why the Move, and What It Costs
“KingFlum,” an anonymous collector-journalist on the organising team, told WatchPro that regional conflict put the event “on the back foot from the moment it started.” Abu Dhabi has been spared missile and drone attacks since May, but corporate policies restricting UAE travel remain in force for several brands. That, not venue preference, triggered the relocation.
Tickets for Las Vegas are expected to cost more than Abu Dhabi’s $435 general admission and $1,195 VIP, because venue, production and labour costs are higher. Sales are planned for early September. Existing Abu Dhabi ticket holders will receive refunds from Etihad Arena and can request a returning-attendee code that locks the original price for the same tier when Las Vegas tickets open.

Not Watches and Wonders
The Escapement is not a trade fair. Up to 50 brands were booked for Abu Dhabi; WatchPro was told the Las Vegas count could be higher because the United States is the world’s largest watch market. Rexhep Rexhepi and Greubel Forsey are expected as headline names. Czapek, Armin Strom, Biver, Romain Gauthier, Pattern Recognition, HYT, Zeitwinkel, Luca Soprana, Ming, Louis Erard and Fleming appear on the event site. KingFlum has also named Gérald Genta, Simon Brette, Atelier Wen, Konstantin Chaykin and Kollokium.
The live programme is still being built. KingFlum’s one rule: no brand representatives reading press releases. Evenings are planned around orchestral and cultural sets, a comedy night with an A-list comedian who collects watches, and a closing musician. Media names attached to promotion include Marko Koncina, Anish Bhatt, Ezzat Eid and Ales Pohl.
