Your First GMT Build

Building a GMT is the natural step up from a three-hander. Here is the complete parts approach.

The Parts List

  1. Movement: NH34 — the only NH-family GMT (see our pairing guide)
  2. Dial: GMT-specific with ~2.7mm center hole and 24-hour scale
  3. GMT hand: fourth-hand, NH34-specific (see GMT hand)
  4. Standard hour/minute/second hands: shared across NH family
  5. Bezel: 24-hour or dual-time insert
  6. Case: accepting NH34 stack height — e.g. our 40mm bidirectional GMT case

Assembly Differences

  • Press the GMT hand first (lowest), then hour, minute, second
  • Set GMT via crown position 1 independently of local time
  • Verify 24-hour hand tracks correctly through a full day cycle

See our hand stack guide for the four-layer order.
